Memorial to the Murdered Jews of Europe

The Memorial to the Murdered Jews of Europe is the central Holocaust memorial in Berlin. It is made of 2,711 concrete blocks in a grid pattern, and located in the heart of the city, next to the Brandenburg Gate. The monument was built in 2003-2004 and was inaugurated in 2005 to mark the 60th anniversary of World War II and the Holocaust.

Berlin was the administrative center of the Nazis and the final solution, which led to the murder of 6 million Jews from all over Europe. Walking through the concrete slabs is a powerful experience.
